YOUR ITINERARY — AMALIFI INDULGENCES!

Day 1 — Depart JFK Monday 03 March 2025 for ROME!

We will fly via Alitalia and enjoy our meals and refreshments on board!

Day 2 — Tuesday, 04 March

Arrive Rome/Sorrento, Italy

Upon arrival proceed to baggage claim. After clearing customs, we will be met by our Tour Director and transferred to your hotel in Sorrento, an attractive seaside town at the center of the Amalfi Coast. The rest of the day is at leisure! Enjoy your time today either with a quick rest or begin your exploration of the beautiful Amalfi Coast! Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (D)

VESUVIO SORRENTO * * * * - Standard (Or Similar)

Offering paramaniac views across the Bay of Naples, Grand Hotel Vesuvio features a semi-Olympic pool with a large sun terrace. It provides a free shuttle to Sorrento centre 1km away. Rooms are bright and spacious with tiled floors and classic furniture. All air-conditioned, they also feature a TV, minibar, and a private bathroom with toiletries. Breakfast at the grand Vesuvio is buffet style. Ristorante Vesuvio and the poolside restaurant serve Mediterranean and international cuisine, while the bar hosts live music events. The hotel has plenty of sun loungers and parasols on the terrace, ideal for relaxing and admiring the view. You will also find free Wi-Fi in public areas and a free car park. The shuttle service runs on a schedule.

Day 3 – Wednesday, 05 March

Sorrento – Walking Tour

After breakfast, we enjoy a guided walking tour through the coastal city of Sorrento, a cosmopolitan place full of stylish and typical Italian artisan shops selling local products and wares. The delightful climate attracted Roman aristocrats in ancient times, who came to Sorrento and built magnificent villas. Today Sorrento is a rich and Stylish city. Next, take part in two of our Cultural Discovery Series – visit Alessandro Fiorentiono Collection and learn about wood craftsmanship. Then, learn about the tradition and secrets behind “Limoncello” production. Following the demonstration, we enjoy a tasting of this famous Italian liqueur. The afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the Italian way. (B)

Located in the heart of the Amalfi Coast and known as the jewel of Italy, Sorrento is one of the most enjoyable destinations to visit! The Amalfi Coast stretches 31 miles from Sorrento to Salerno … with its lemon-scented air to views of the crystal clear sea, it’s a delightful place to spend time!

Day 4 – Thursday, 06 March

Sorrento

Full day at leisure or take an optional tour to Capri! This morning a jetfoil whisks you across the blue Bay of Naples to the fabled Isle of Capri. Upon arrival we will drive to Anacapri where you will have free time for shopping before heading to Capri. You will ascend to the Piazzetta and visit the Floral Gardens of Caesar Augustus. The town center is where extravagance is the non-noticed norm. The magic of the island is everywhere. Walk by spotless narrow streets, Gaze at boutique displays. Sit at an open air café for lunch on our own, before returning to the pier by funicular and boarding the jetfoil back to the mainland. (B)

Famed for its blue seas, breathtaking views, and cove-studded coastline, the Isle of Capri has been a tourist haven since the early years of The Roman empire! Unlike in the imperial heyday, when emperors made it their exclusive playground, Capri now hosts visitors from around the world. Where shall we. Have lunch? Il Piccolo Bar? Villa Margherita? Le Grottelle? Lo Sfizio? So many to choose from!!! Let’s ask our Guide for a suggestion!!!

Day 5 – Friday, 07 March

Sorrento – Tour of Amalfi Coast

This morning, we leave Sorrento for a full day sightseeing on the Amalfi Coast. Stop at the Sorrento Belvedere to enjoy a unique view of Moorish architecture blended with pastel colored houses and to take pictures of this unforgettable site! Then continue to Amalfi for a walking tour of the old village, lined with shops, café bars, and spectacular views. Then reach Ravello, a dramatic hillside town, famous for its Villa Rufolo, which was originally used as a watchtower when it was built in 1200 AD. Here we enjoy some free time for lunch on our own at a restaurant. Then onwards to Positano one of the most beautiful valleys of the Amalfi peninsula. At the center of town we can see the brightly colored “maiolica” dome of Santa Maria Assunta, the main church of Positano. Enjoy time for a stroll around the center of town before returning to Sorrento. (B)

Day 6 – Saturday, 08 March

Sorrento

Today enjoy a day a leisure for last minute shopping, a walk or we may take an optional tour to Salerno. This tour will be to the lively port town of Salerno. During medieval times the town’s medical school was among the most advanced. In recent history, Salerno was the site of the Allied landing in September 1942. Continue to a “Mozzarella di Bulafa” factory to learn about the Mozzarella making process, and to sample some of it! Return to Sorento and relax. Tonight join us for a farewell dinner to Sorrento at the local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 7 – Sunday, 09 March

Sorrento – Tour Of Pompeii/Rome

Today we will be leaving Sorrento for Rome, the “Eternal City”. Along the way we stop and tour Pompeii. No visit to southern Italy would be compete without a visit to the unique ruins of Pompeii. Explore the ancient city covered by volcanic dust from Mt. Versuvius in AD 79 and see the excavated remains of the Forum, thermal baths, Lupanare and Vetti’s House. Once we arrive in Rome, the rest of the day is at leisure.

Located in the heart of the city centre, in the Via Veneto-Billa Borghese area, near the most important tourist attractions of the city!

From the Fulvius Restaurant and from the panoramic terrace, our eyes will be amazed to see the beauties of the Eternal City and the fantasy of colors. Painted in the sky … a priceless spectacle!

A relaxation of the mind and body await in the Spa Romamor in which the atmosphere of the ancient Roman thermal baths has been recreated!

Day 8 – Monday, 10 March

Rome- City Tour

This morning experience a very special privately guided tour of the priceless collection of art and treasures in the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museum. We then proceed to the Piazza Venezia and Roman Forum, with a stop at the Colosseum, a testament to the greatness of Rome’s past, for a guided tour. We continue our full day tour by viewing the Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus, the Great Synagogue, Isola Tiberina and Castel Sant’Angelo. (B)

Day 9 – Tuesday, 11 March

Rome

Today enjoy a full day of leisure! Italy’s renowned capital city is a constant among “top ten” lists of places to visit. Rome welcomes, embraces, and captivates travelers at every turn. Soak in the Italian culture as you stroll past Roman ruins, absorb the impressive architecture, and explore everything from imperial temples to early- Christian churches, medieval bell towers, baroque basilicas, and playful piazzas. Tonight dinner on our own at a local restaurant will end our Italian stay. (B) Hotel – HOTEL ROMANICO PALACE (Or Similar)

Day 10 – Wednesday, 12 March

Rome to USA

After breakfast we transfer to the airport for our return flight home via Alitalia. (B)

A deposit is required at the time of booking and NO request will be acted upon until a deposit is received.

Note: No bookings are considered confirmed until a deposit is received by CENTRAL HOLIDAYS. INITIAL DEPOSIT: Deposit of $800 per person deposit + cost of any travel protection you wish to purchase.

Price adjustments, if warranted, will be determined prior to collection of final payment. Depending on Country and type of service the quote given may be subject to currency fluctuation. Your initial deposit does not protect your price from the fluctuation of currency and quote is subject to currency rate at time of final payment. To protect your group from a possible increase due to the fluctuation of currency you can deposit 10 percent of the projected total land cost.
